I hope that you are all enjoying a lovely end to 2015, and what a tremendous year it has been!
This year we went from strength to strength. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your engagement, commitment and enthusiasm.
In 2015 we have had a lot of highlights, none of which we could have had without you. We presented the Trade Barrier Paper, which was well received and has led to interesting discussions. In September we had the Joint Business Council in Sweden, and recently we had Sweden Days here in Taipei. It truly was a tremendous time for us, and on the second day we had almost five thousand members of the general public alone.
Throughout 2015 we have increased our membership overall, as well as increased active membership and new energy into the organisation. The Young Professionals (YP) have found a strong base to continue to build upon, which allowed us to bring Anna from Hong Kong to Taipei to help us achieve this ambitious aspiration. Networking and After Work social engagements including traditional Swedish festivals such as Midsummer and St. Lucia have been a lot of fun. We were particularly glad to be visited twice by our priest from the Swedish Church in Hong Kong, who helped emphasize the uniquely Swedish in our traditions. Also, the Taipei Swedish language school for the young members of our community continues to be available to all who would wish to join.
2015 has been a year of great strides for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei, and we wish to thank all our members for their input, energy and support. I hope that you all have enjoyed this year as much as I, and that 2016 brings us together again in new endeavors.
